The Land is located on the built-up area of Shadwell & Leeds, and falls within the Green Belt. It is approximately 100m to the northeast of Shadwell village centre and 11km from the main city centre. The site boasts direct access from Tarn Lane.
The original site, extended to 17 acres. After certain disposals, Land First Investments have retained 10 acres which needs to be promoted through the local plan. Land First Investments may aim to make further acquisitions in the region of potential adjoining sites to increase their holding.
The land lies within the administrative boundary of the Leeds City Council. The Site lies within the boundary of Harewood Parish Council but is related to Shadwell. The site is in the Green Belt and the Council’s recent Local Plan has highlighted the necessity for the “release of significant amounts of Green Belt land”.The Council is preparing a new local plan which will be the most updated for the region.
